Sandwich by Catherine Newman hit a little too close to home, in the best possible way. Set during a family vacation on Cape Cod, it follows Rocky as she navigates the joys and absurdities of being firmly wedged in the middle of life: aging parents on one side, grown children on the other, and everyone somehow still expecting snacks, emotional support, and answers.

I laughed, I teared up, and I felt deeply seen.
